Sometimes beautiful women are called foxes, but the last thing any woman wants to be referred to is a raccoon. Dark under eye circles are a problem that many women deal with, whether its a result of lack of sleep, poor nutrition, or simply genetics. The good news is, there are some tricks to minimizing the look of dark under eye circles.
First, start by applying an eye cream targeted at this problem. Allure Magazine rated Olay Regenerist Eye Regenerating Cream as a top choice, since it "has niacinamide to help fade discoloration over time, while its skin-tone hue instantly tones down darkness."
The next step is an important (and often over-looked step). Lightly apply a face primer around your eyes. This will minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles, creating a "smooth canvas" for your make-up to go on, and will help add longevity to your eye make-up (enabling it to last for hours, if not all day). One of my personal favorites is Smashbox Photo Finish Light, which can be used all over the face, and won't cause breakouts.
Next, gently dab on a cream concealer with your (clean) finger or a small brush. A great choice is Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste. This concentrated, creamy concealer brightens and camouflages in one easy step! It targets dark circles, discoloration and imperfections, and is available in three shades with brightening melon undertones to suit every complexion.
And the final step is to lightly dust on translucent setting powder (such as the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder), to keep your make-up in place all day.
If you follow these top tips, you'll lighten and brighten your eyes, which makes you look radiant and refreshed.
